create:space

Need a brain break from studying in The Hub? Or new to maker technology? No problem! create:space offers student crafting space, materials, and student run workshops for free. In create:space you will find coloring books, origami paper, Legos, and workshops to show you how to use new technologies in fun and creative ways during your study break.

create:space is a user-friendly student makerspace with technology including 3D printing, vinyl cutting, and sewing machines. Stop by when The Hub @ Lathrop is open to use our open-access resources and equipment. A majority of the equipment and materials are free and available for patrons to drop-in and use during open hours. Best of all, all workshops are free to attend and all materials will be provided.

We hope to provide a welcoming environment all patrons can enjoy. To do so, we need to ensure everyone abides by the policies of the space and shares the resources available.

Please clean up after yourself when using the space.
Keep food and drinks away from technology.
If large quantities of a resource are needed, we ask for you to purchase the quantity you need.
create:space Consultants must be present for patrons to use the laser cutter.
Only certified users may use the 3D printers. See the 3D printer page for more information.
No drug, sex, or weapon paraphernalia is allowed to be created or printed in the space.
Limit your use of laminating sheets to 10 per visit.
