Renew Equipment
Need more time with the equipment? While we cannot not guarantee the ability to renew your loaner equipment, we do our best to accommodate what we can.
Depending on equipment availability, all three-day loaners are eligible for a one-time three business day renewal, making the maximum loan length six business days. At the end of the six days, all equipment must be returned to The Tech Desk.
This provides other patrons the opportunity to utilize the equipment as needed. You will be eligible to loan the equipment again the following business day, provided availability.
Self-Service Renewal Option
Don’t want to wait? No problem! You can renew most three day equipment loans on your own using the Patron Portal. Follow our step-by-step instructions on how to renew your loaner equipment.
Laptop Renewals
In order to renew a loaner computer at the end of the two weeks, students need to provide one of the following forms of documentation to The Tech Desk by submitting a ticket:
- Purchase receipt/confirmation of a new laptop
- Repair shop receipt/documentation
- Communication with funding sources (i.e email correspondence, ServiceNow ticket)
- Undergraduate Funding Sources
- Graduate Funding Sources
If students are not able to provide documentation, they may need to return the MacBook Air at the end of the initial loan period. Students still needing computer access for coursework should use cluster machines in their residences or central study spaces, such as the Hub and 24 Hour Space.
iPad and Portable Monitor Renewals
iPads and Portable Monitors are available for quarter-long loans and may be eligible for renewal. The Tech Desk will send out information about renewal options and instructions mid-quarter.
If you have questions about the quarterly renewal process, please submit a ticket.
